Sandra Bowden 10/01/2018I am a Clinical Counsellor, Registered Supervisor and Director of Counselling at Newlands Counselling, Supervisory and Training Services. I have 18 years of clinical counselling experience, working in various settings, such as community based counselling services, palliative care and mental health (Medibank Mental Health Solutions). In the last year I have taken on an adult education role, teaching the Diploma of Counselling. AREAS OF PARTICULAR INTEREST AND EXPERTISE:
In the past 12 years I have developed specific expertise in post abortion grief and trauma, the impact of this experience on the individual, her intimate relationship, and her extended family relationships. This work created a particularly interested in how the abortion experience has been linked to alcohol and drug abuse in women, who had no prior history of substance abuse.
